About Faraz
I am a professional classical vocalist with over a decade of dedicated training in the prestigious Patiala Gharana. I have had the immense privilege of learning directly under the legendary master Ustad Bade Fateh Ali Khan Sahab, and subsequently from his eldest son, Ustad Sultan Fateh Ali Khan Sahab.
Music is not just a profession for me, but a lifelong legacy that I am passionate about preserving and sharing globally. Over the years, I have performed extensively on various national and international platforms, bringing the rich heritage of Khayal and Thumri gayaki to diverse audiences.
As the founder of VCompose – The Music Journey, I blend traditional subcontinental mentorship with modern digital learning to help students worldwide find their authentic voice. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and thoroughly structured to match your individual artistic journey.

My lessons are designed to make the art of Hindustani classical music accessible to everyone, from absolute beginners to advanced vocalists. Rooted deeply in the traditional gayaki/singing of the Patiala Gharana, my teaching approach balances authentic technique with modern vocal conditioning.
A typical 1-on-1 online session focuses on:
* Voice Culture & Flexibility: Specialized warm-ups and palta/sargam exercises to expand range and pitch accuracy.
* Raga Development: Understanding the mood, structure, and rules of different Ragas.
* Improvisation: Step-by-step guidance on crafting complex Taans, Alaaps, and emotional expressions in Khayal or Thumri.
* Personalized Riyaz: Customized tools and take-home exercises tailored to your current vocal level.
Whether you want to sing classical music professionally or improve your pitch and breath control for contemporary genres, these lessons are customized entirely around your personal goals and pace.
