About Elinor

I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of teaching experience and hold an MPhys degree. My passion lies in exploring the fascinating overlap between physics and biology, where complex life processes can be explained with physical principles. I have guided students through biophysics and the physics of living systems, helping them see how forces, energy, and motion govern life at every scale. A strong focus of my work includes molecular motors, where I explain how tiny biological machines convert energy into movement. I also teach the physics of membrane transport, showing how ions and molecules pass through barriers to sustain life. Nerve impulses are another area I emphasise, helping students connect electrical signals to the way the brain and body communicate. Biomechanics is also a key topic, where I explore how physics explains movement, balance, and structural integrity in living organisms. I have worked with biology students seeking deeper physical insight into their field. Pre-med students benefit from my clear explanations that connect physics to human physiology and medical applications. Those curious about the physical underpinnings of life find my lessons both rigorous and inspiring. My approach blends clear conceptual explanations with problem-solving practice, ensuring students build confidence and mastery. About the lesson

My teaching approach is designed to make Physics clear, engaging, and exam-ready. I focus on building strong fundamentals in areas such as mechanics, electricity, magnetism, optics, thermodynamics, and modern physics. For students preparing for AP Physics, I also provide targeted lessons in astrophysics and nuclear physics, ensuring complete coverage of both theory and applications. I believe mastering Physics requires a balance of understanding concepts and practising problems. That’s why I use concept reviews, problem-solving drills, and timed practice tests to sharpen skills and improve speed. With carefully structured sessions, students gain confidence in applying formulae and solving complex questions step by step. Alongside content mastery, I teach exam strategies—like identifying key topics, managing time effectively, and avoiding common mistakes. This helps students feel calm and prepared on exam day. I also bring in real-life examples and thought experiments inspired by both mathematics and science fiction to spark curiosity and make learning memorable. Every student has unique strengths, and I tailor my lessons to match their pace and style. My goal is to ensure steady progress, high scores, and a deeper love for Physics. With the right guidance, practice, and confidence, you won’t just prepare for tests—you’ll excel in them.
