About Daniel
I trained for 8 years at the Jazz Conservatory of Monaco and then 3 years towards a Music Degree at Nice University (France). Since moving to London in 1985 I have worked as professional live musician and recording artist/producer as well as composer for film and TV.
I have taught many students, children or adults, beginners or advanced. With serious students I have seen good results within 6 months of weekly (on average) lessons. As with everything, motivation and practice are key to success.

Creative and engaging lessons tailored to the student's ability. Maximum enjoyment for the minimum amount of time (depending on practice...).
Every lesson will consist of both some theoretical information as well as practical playing exercises. Homework will be given which will require practice before the next lesson. Progress very much depends on how much practice is done in between lessons.
In line with the student's level, I focus on building a good understanding of how chords are built, using a simple and clear method. A good knowledge of chords is the basis for all popular music.
I also start as soon as possible working on well-known simple tunes (Blues, Jazz, Pop etc), practising left/right hand coordination, rhythmic precision, melodic phrasing and allow the student to start improvising over a given structure.
The main aim is to guide the students to develop their own creative voice. Not just play notes but use music to express themselves.
For more advanced students we look at more complex jazz harmonic structures and work slowly towards expanding all elements of a tune, exploding personal interpretation, leading up to total improvisation and instant composition.
Studying jazz opens the doors to all contemporary popular musics and is therefore the best school for all modern piano players.

Lessons on Zoom/Skype only at the moment. £40 per hour and £25 per 1/2 hour. First 1/2 hour lesson is free and is mainly to find out what the student wants to learn and at what level they are.
