About Isla
I am a dedicated piano tutor with 14 years of experience teaching high school and college students. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of helping around 300 students develop their piano skills and passion for music. My teaching philosophy focuses on clear communication, adapting to each student’s learning style, and making lessons engaging and enjoyable. I believe in providing a well-rounded education that includes music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills. My goal is to inspire students to grow both technically and creatively while fostering a love for music.

I believe that learning the piano should be a fun and engaging experience, so I use real-life examples and case studies to help students connect music theory and technique to actual performances. This approach makes learning more practical and enjoyable. I also incorporate a variety of relevant subjects, such as music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and even improvisation, which are essential for a well-rounded piano education. I encourage students to explore different music genres, including classical, jazz, pop, and R&B, to develop their versatility as pianists. My goal is not just to teach piano but to inspire a lifelong love for music, helping students to become confident, skilled musicians who can express themselves creatively.
