About Ammad

I'm Ammad, a barrister called to the Bar in the UK (unregistered barrister) and a native Urdu speaker. Urdu has always been an important part of my life, my family, and my identity, and having grown up between Pakistani and British culture, I know how much the language means to people who want to stay connected to their roots.

My legal training has taught me to communicate clearly, listen carefully, and explain complex ideas in a simple way. I bring the same professionalism, patience, and attention to detail to every lesson I teach.

I want to teach Urdu because I've seen how many people, especially children of overseas families, want to speak with their grandparents, read Urdu poetry, or simply feel closer to their heritage but don't know where to start. Helping students gain that confidence is truly rewarding for me.

I'm reliable, punctual, and committed to making every lesson enjoyable and worthwhile. Whether you're starting from zero or want to polish your skills, I'll be with you every step of the way.

About the lesson

I'm a native Urdu speaker and a barrister called to the Bar in the UK (unregistered barrister). I teach Urdu in a friendly, patient, and practical way so every student feels comfortable, whether they are complete beginners or want to improve their fluency.

I believe the best way to learn a language is by using it. My lessons focus on real-life conversation from the very first class, along with reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. I first understand each student's goals, such as speaking with family, reading Urdu script, or preparing for exams, and then plan lessons around them. I use simple explanations, everyday examples, short stories, dialogues, and interactive exercises to make learning enjoyable and easy to remember. For beginners, I teach the Urdu alphabet step by step and can use Roman Urdu at the start to make things easier.

My lessons are usually 60 minutes long. For young children, I offer 30–45 minute sessions to keep them focused and engaged.

As a barrister called to the Bar in the UK, I have strong communication, reading, and writing skills, and I bring the same discipline and clarity to my teaching. Having lived in both Pakistani and British culture, I understand the challenges overseas students face when learning Urdu and know how to make it simple and relatable.

My lessons are for children, teenagers, and adults at all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I especially enjoy teaching overseas families who want their children to connect with Urdu and their culture.
