About Weicheng
Hi! I'm Weicheng, a native Mandarin speaker based in Shanghai. I hold a bachelor's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and a master's in linguistics from Lund University in Sweden, so I bring both solid teaching methodology and a deep understanding of how languages work.
I taught Chinese at a Chinese school in Sweden for almost two years, working with students of different ages, levels, and goals — from complete beginners to advanced learners preparing for exams. I'm used to explaining difficult grammar and pronunciation points in clear, simple English, and I genuinely enjoy helping students break through plateaus.
Before teaching, I worked in educational publishing and public cultural programs, which trained me to make complex ideas accessible and engaging. I'm patient, well-organized, and serious about your progress — but I also believe learning a language should be fun. Looking forward to meeting you!

My lessons are structured but never boring. We start from your goals — passing HSK, surviving daily life in China, doing business in Mandarin, or just having real conversations — and I build a personal plan around them.
With a bachelor's in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and a linguistics master's from Lund University, I don't just teach phrases — I explain how Mandarin actually works: tones, grammar patterns, and the logic behind them, so things stick. Expect plenty of speaking practice from day one, clear pronunciation coaching (tones are my specialty), and materials tailored to your level.
I taught Chinese in Sweden for almost two years to students of all ages and levels, so I'm used to explaining tricky points in clear English and adjusting the pace to you.
