About Tamika
I’m a seamstress, textile artist, and educator passionate about preserving and reimagining the art of sewing. From garments to custom pieces, I approach each creation with intention, craftsmanship, and a deep love for the process.
As a teacher, I create hands-on, welcoming spaces where students can learn practical sewing skills while building confidence and creativity. Whether working with beginners or growing makers, I focus on helping others not just follow patterns, but truly understand how to create for themselves.

Learning to sew is more than just a skill. It’s a pathway to creativity, independence, and self-expression. In my classes, students don’t just follow patterns. They learn how to create, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life with confidence. My teaching style is hands-on, patient, and rooted in real-life making. Each lesson introduces a practical skill—like stitching, fabric knowledge, or machine use—and immediately applies it through a guided project, so students leave with something they’re proud of and the knowledge to do it again.
What sets me apart is my focus on teaching the “why,” not just the “how,” while creating a supportive, culturally grounded space where students feel encouraged to grow. Drawing from my experience as a seamstress, fiber artist, and educator, I help students connect sewing to everyday life and creative expression. These classes are ideal for beginners to intermediate learners, including children (ages 8+), homeschoolers, and adults looking to build practical, lasting skills at their own pace.
