I'm a software engineer with professional experience developing production software in the aerospace industry, and I focus on helping students build the skills they need to succeed both academically and in industry. My goal isn't just to help you solve today's assignment—it's to help you become an independent, confident software engineer.
My teaching style is highly interactive and tailored to each student's goals and current skill level. Rather than lecturing, I ask questions, work through problems together, and explain the reasoning behind design decisions. I emphasize fundamental concepts, clean coding practices, debugging techniques, and the problem-solving mindset that professional engineers use every day.
A typical lesson begins with identifying your objective, whether that's understanding a class topic, preparing for an exam, completing a project, or getting ready for technical interviews. We'll review any challenging concepts, work through examples together, and then apply what you've learned by writing or improving code. I end each session by summarizing the key takeaways and suggesting practice problems or next steps to reinforce your understanding.
What sets me apart is my real-world engineering experience. I can connect computer science theory to how software is actually designed, tested, reviewed, and maintained on professional engineering teams.
