About Elissa

As someone with master's degrees in both Professional Counseling and Nutrition, I’ve spent years studying how the brain functions and how we learn. 1. Teaching Method and Techniques

My instructional methodology is grounded in how people process and retain information, using the VARK model (Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, Kinesthetic). Rather than treating learning styles as rigid categories, I use them as different entry points to make learning easier. Research shows that the most effective learning happens when we combine different senses and methods.

Visual Learners: I use clear diagrams, flowcharts, and color-coded mind maps to help you see how different parts of a concept connect.

Minutes 45–55: Teach-Back & Summary
Activity: You summarize the main takeaways of the lesson in your own words. This helps identify any areas that still feel a bit confusing.

Minutes 55–60: Weekly Action Plan
Activity: We set specific, manageable study tasks for you to do before our next session, tailored to how you learn best (like making flashcards, drawing a diagram, or writing a quick summary).
