About Umni
I’m currently a first year medical student at the University of Leeds and I want to teach Psychology as I thoroughly enjoyed it while at Sixth Form. I also understand the struggle of exams and feeling overwhelmed, so I would love to help out anybody I can and I am a firm believer in a calm and relaxed learning environment, so our lessons will be tailored to your needs. I have had previous mentoring and leadership roles at school as well as volunteering, so I do enjoy teaching as I find it very rewarding. I attended Burnham Grammar School where I achieved a grade A in Psychology.

I will be helping you to understand the principles and ideas behind each topic, which I believe to be the best way to study as understanding is better than memorisation. Once you understand the why and how, you need very little memorisation. This helps you to apply your knowledge to questions even when you are not familiar with the topic. I can also give you useful tips and explain how I preferred to revise. Having a strong foundation will equip you to better tackle exam-style questions and understand what the question is actually asking of you. Our first lesson will be used to discuss what you would like to work on and how I can help you with your goals as well as getting to know each other a little bit to ensure you are comfortable.
