About Karmen
I am a professional singer and music teacher.
In the last 15 years I have been giving concerts in more than 10 different countries around the world alongside artists like The King's Singers, Berlin Philharmonics, Teatro Alla Scala, Quatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra (Fischer Ivan), Edita Gruberova, José Carreras, Pier Giorgo Morandi, Kobayasi Ken Ichro and Karl Jenkins. All the while performing I also have operated in the Hungarian music education field, teaching Key Stages 1-5.

My teaching methodology are Hungarian Kodaly Conception for solfege, and Italian Bell Canto for voice training.
The Kodaly methode is a sequential learning process follows the natural developmental pattern used in learning a language, which is, aural, written, and then read. Solfege or “Curwen” handsigns are used as a way to visualize the pitches being sung.
Also using the pentatonic scale that the notes present all of the intervals are needed in singing in an extended range as the voice develops but will not put unnecessary strain on the inexperienced singer. Kodaly is a concept that is non-graded. This makes the teaching of the most fundamental concepts applicable even to “beginners” of music education in highschool and beyond. The sequence of the concepts stay the same, but the material used to teach these concepts are age appropriate and left up to the discretion of the teacher.
