About John
Hi! I’m a 17-year-old student from Scotland currently studying A-Level (equivalent) Maths, Further Maths, Biology, and Chemistry. I’ve always loved learning and problem-solving — especially in Maths and Science — and I’ve represented my school in over 30 maths competitions. I know that these subjects can sometimes feel tricky or overwhelming, so my goal is to make them clear, engaging, and enjoyable. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind the topics, not just memorise methods. I offer online lessons for students, tailored to each learner’s needs — whether you’re looking to boost confidence in a subject or even just a little bit extra knowledge to put you ahead. As a student myself, I understand how to explain things in a way that’s relatable and easy to follow, while keeping lessons interactive and supportive. If you’re ready to make Maths and Science simpler (and maybe even fun!), I'd love to help! Fun fact: I've played violin for almost 14 years!

My lessons involve a mixture of one-on-one teaching, questions and some contextual extras to help give your child a better, wider understanding of the subject. A typical lesson would be 30-45 minutes long; however, I understand each young person is different and every lesson will be tailored to suit everyone from content to length. I am a relatively new tutor but I have experience within school helping with the maths teams within the younger years. These lessons are aimed at anyone pre-GCSE level and GCSE level. I usually offer a lesson a week but if ever required, extra lessons can be booked (e.g. before exams).
