About Will
I’m Will, a first-year medical student at the University of Oxford. Having achieved an A* in A-level Chemistry and successfully gained admission to study Medicine, I understand both the academic demands of sixth form and the competitive nature of the medical school application process.
During sixth form, I developed a real passion for chemistry, particularly enjoying the challenge of applying complex concepts to unfamiliar problems. This experience has given me a strong appreciation for the topics students often find most difficult, as well as the exam technique needed to achieve top grades.
Alongside chemistry tuition, I also offer support with medical school admissions. Having recently been through the process myself, I can help students develop their personal statements and build confidence for medical school interviews. My experience of the Oxford admissions process has given me valuable insight into the style of questioning and the skills that interviewers look for.
My aim is to help students feel confident, capable, and well prepared, whether they are striving for an A* in Chemistry or working towards a place at medical school. I believe that with clear explanations, tailored guidance, and plenty of encouragement, challenging concepts and demanding interviews can become enjoyable opportunities to demonstrate a student’s potential.

Lessons are tailored to the individual needs and goals of each student. Whether you are preparing for A-level Chemistry or applying to study Medicine, we will begin by identifying your strengths and areas for development before creating a personalised plan to help you achieve your objectives.
For A-level Chemistry, we will build a strong understanding of the underlying concepts before focusing on applying this knowledge to exam-style questions. Particular emphasis is placed on exam technique, recognising common question patterns, interpreting mark schemes, and developing strategies to maximise marks efficiently.
For students applying to Medicine, I offer guidance throughout the admissions process, including interview practice. Sessions are designed to develop the problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills assessed by medical schools, with tailored feedback to help students improve their confidence and performance. I can also provide insight into the Oxford Medicine admissions process and the style of questions commonly encountered in interviews.
As a current Oxford Medicine student who achieved an A* in A-level Chemistry, I have recent first-hand experience of both the A-level examinations and the medical school admissions process. Having successfully navigated these challenges myself, I understand the exam technique and interview skills required to perform at a high level, and I aim to help students approach each stage with confidence.
