About Inaaya

Hello there everyone! My name is Inaaya Qazi and I’m doing this job because I have a passion for teaching and absolutely am in love with English and am doing it for my A-levels. I have always been a Grade 9 student in English for my GCSEs and would love to continue to take my love for the subject into the professional world. I have been in many leadership roles throughout school (head girl in y6, form representative in y9-11, year representative in y9 and deputy head girl in y11) so I am really good at public speaking and explaining things to other people. I always approach everything with a positive attitude because there’s nothing anyone can’t do if they put their mind to it! And guess what? English is one of those beautiful things that enforces this amazing mindset :)

About the lesson

I will take the first lesson to evaluate what my student needs and their weaknesses. To do this, before the lesson I’d ask the student to message me what they’d like to go through specifically so I can plan my lesson accordingly. We can do worked examples together before I allow you to practise yourself and I can mark your work live in front of you so that you understand where you’ve gone wrong. I can also go through content that you perhaps haven’t done, but I’d need the student to message me exactly what they would want me to cover. Since this is English, I’ll have different things set out for different age groups. For example, for GCSE AQA English language I can have some texts out that you’d typically see in a paper or with a past paper. We can analyse it together with realistic timings in the exam, and we can write an example paragraph together before I allow you to try it on your own. I can mark it there and take you through what went well and what didn’t according to mark schemes and tell you what examiners will be looking for. My lessons are all about walking my students through the processes so they know exactly how to carry them out before they try something on their own and give them feedback on what they can work on. If the student wishes, I can send them homework for them to try by themselves and we can go through it in lesson after we have covered the content.
