About Jess
I am currently a third year at the University of Gloucestershire, originally from Cumbria, studying forensic psychology. I wanted to tutor because I have mentored and tutored before during sixth form and thoroughly enjoyed it, so getting to do so about a subject that I enjoy is an added bonus.
I mentored in many subjects in sixth form, and continued to do so once starting university privately, I also have had experience in the field of psychology, appearing as an assistant psychologist for private assessments. I am to provide specialised sessions tailored to how my students learn, as I have found that this often leads to better results with less frustration from students than a typical one-fits-all approach. As will be mentioned in the plans for my lessons, I take half or a full session getting to know students and how they learn and what they hope to achieve, making a plan that fits us to best learn the course.

I approach tutoring from a very personalised level, I will have a first lesson where we will go over your goals and aims before making a lesson plan for the next few weeks. Lessons are for A level/AS level students.
Lessons can be between 1 or 2 hours depending on your needs as a student, which will take place online. Initially, we will go over the content of the exam syllabus and through how to answer exam questions, with regular reviews on how students progress. I believe integrating content on how to pass the exam questions and will regularly go over how best to achieve this, from techniques that work for students.
I also have tutoring experience, both in psychology and other subjects, as I have done mentoring throughout both university and 6th Form. I am currently half way through my third year of my degree and will be proceeding to a MSc in forensic psychology, meaning I have a lot of interest in psychology and am happy to teach it.
