About Marla

I love to read. As a young girl, I was often found reading when I should have been sleeping or doing chores. I currently hold an Educator License in the State of Utah (Ex 2026) but have decided to move away from the traditional classroom. I taught grades 7-10 for the last 4 years. I have a lot of experience with children and teens from being involved in Cub Scouts, teaching at the Jr High and High School level, and with 3 children of my own. When I'm not rocking at life, I enjoy taking bubble baths, cross-stitching or crafting, swimming, bowling, and snuggling with my 2 cats.

About the lesson

I want to teach at your pace with multiple ways to learn. I prefer to use YouTube videos (for visual and auditory learners), and games such as Nearpod or Gimkit (for kinesthetic learners). My classes are intended for youth aged 12-18. My certification is for secondary teaching but will gladly help with college papers as well (I did go to college after all)! Together we will.... -read out loud! This helps us remember the information, understand the information better, and gain confidence in our abilities! -Write the information we are learning, annotate, and combine new information! I am... -A teacher with 4 years experience and a love of reading, writing, and all things English! -A mom with 3 kids who will treat you with respect, listen, and coach you in advocating for your learning needs at school!
