About Gel
I am a passionate and dedicated healthcare tutor who enjoys helping students understand medical concepts, develop professional communication skills, and gain confidence in their knowledge. I believe that learning is most effective when lessons are practical, engaging, and connected to real-life healthcare situations.
I am a licensed midwife and graduate of St. Joseph College of Cavite Inc., with four years of nursing experience, including hands-on experience as a delivery room midwife. I also gained international caregiving experience in Hong Kong, which strengthened my communication, patience, adaptability, and understanding of different cultures.
In addition to my clinical experience, I have experience teaching Medical English to Japanese students who are studying or working in medical professions. I enjoy making complex medical topics easier to understand by using clear explanations, practical examples, and interactive discussions.

My teaching approach is practical, supportive, and student-centered. I combine my clinical experience as a licensed midwife, four-year nursing background, delivery room experience, and caregiving experience in Hong Kong with effective teaching techniques. I use simple explanations, real-life clinical examples, discussions, role-playing, and interactive activities to make lessons easier to understand and remember.
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous topics, followed by an introduction to the new lesson. I then explain key concepts step-by-step, introduce relevant medical vocabulary, and provide practical examples. Students are encouraged to ask questions and participate in conversations or case-based activities. Each lesson ends with a review and feedback to help students improve.
What sets me apart is that I teach from both academic and real-world healthcare perspectives. I can help students understand medical concepts while also developing their confidence in communicating professionally in English. I also have experience teaching Medical English to Japanese students who are studying or working in medical professions.
My lessons are suitable for nursing and midwifery students, healthcare professionals, medical students, caregivers, and anyone interested in improving their Medical English, clinical communication, healthcare vocabulary, or understanding of medical-related topics. Lessons can be adapted according to the student's level, goals, and specific learning needs.
