About Wena
Hello! I’m a licensed teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education major in Filipino and a Master’s degree in Education, major in Filipino Language Teaching. I have 10 years of teaching experience and have worked with learners from different backgrounds and learning levels.
As a teacher, I believe that every student can learn when given the right guidance, encouragement, and learning environment. My teaching style is patient, supportive, and personalized. I make lessons clear, interactive, and engaging while adapting my approach to each student’s needs and learning pace.
I can help students develop their English Language Arts skills, including reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and communication. I also teach Filipino and can support learners who want to improve their language skills.
My goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to build their confidence and make them feel comfortable expressing their ideas. I look forward to helping you reach your learning goals!

My approach as a tutor is student-centered, patient, and personalized. I believe students learn best when lessons are engaging, supportive, and connected to their interests and learning needs. I adjust my teaching strategies based on each student’s level, pace, strengths, and areas for improvement.
I use clear explanations, guided practice, questioning, examples, interactive activities, and real-life applications to help students understand concepts rather than simply memorize them. I also encourage students to ask questions, express their ideas, and learn from mistakes in a comfortable environment.
A typical lesson begins with a short review or warm-up activity, followed by an introduction to the new skill or concept. I then explain the lesson using examples and guide the student through practice activities. As the student becomes more confident, I gradually allow them to work independently. We end with a brief review, feedback, and a short activity or goal for continued practice.
What sets me apart is my experience as a licensed teacher and my ability to combine structure with patience and flexibility. I aim to make learning understandable, meaningful, and enjoyable while helping students develop confidence in their abilities.
My lessons are suitable for elementary, middle school, and high school learners who need support in English Language Arts, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, communication, and critical thinking. I also welcome students who need additional guidance, practice, or a more personalized learning pace.
