About Lisa

I studied English and History for a Master's Degree (M.Ed.) at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and graduated with Distinction.

Since 2011, I have given tuition to numerous children, teenagers and adults in English, French and German. As a learner of the English language myself and having successfully taught English grammar for years, I know the pitfalls and difficulties of the language. So do not hesitate to contact me just because English is not my native tongue. I speak English every day and I have been mistaken for a native speaker several times.

In order to train as a teacher, I completed various internships at different kinds of schools and nurseries. Prior to my studies, I completed a three-week internship at a primary and secondary school, where I first observed and then taught several lessons. I also did an internship at a school for children with special needs in Erlangen. In 2014, I successfully applied for an eight-month foreign language assistant position at a Secondary Grammar School in England, which I later extended until May 2016. Most of my time was spent working with AS and A Level students, but I also worked with the Year 10 and 11 GCSE students and with some of the younger pupils in Year 7, 8 and 9.

Outside of the classroom, working with young people also forms part of my spare time activities. For 10 years I have volunteered at a summer camp for 9 to 15 year-olds, in which I am part of the manegerial team and plan and undertake activities with the children and teenagers.

About the lesson

My top priority is to help my students to succeed and meet their full potential. A relaxed and supportive learning environment is thus essential in the learning process, which is why I try and offer a diverse range of methods, tasks and input.

I can provide lessons to all ability groups in German and English and beginners in French. I am a native speaker of German and have a native speaker level in English. Since I studied English, I can also help students at university with their literature and linguistics courses.
Meeting up in Ayr is no problem. For travels beyond Ayr, I will have to ask for a small fee. However, I also offer webcam lessons, which are not restricted by location.
