About Katherine
I have a Ph.D. in Linguistics from UCLA and taught in the Linguistics Department at Rice University as a faculty member. I am also a certified teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience at all levels. My teaching credentials cover all levels (K-12) of English and Language Arts, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. In addition, I hold Generalist certifications for K-4 and 4-8. I have extensive experience working with IB and AP students, students identified as GT, and students with documented disabilities such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.

I use a student-centered approach - which means I meet my student where they are, listen to understand where they need to go, then formulate an customized plan to get them there.
My teaching style is collaborative and supportive. I want my students to enjoy learning with me!
I mostly work with secondary and post-secondary students. This would be students ranging from middle school and high school as well as college and graduate students.
