About Darren
Grammar rules often felt dry until I started focusing on real conversations during my 8 years of experience. Truthfully, I sometimes struggled to explain why certain idioms sounded natural while others felt stiff before I earned my BA Linguistics degree. My background helps me guide the students I have taught toward better conversational fluency and speaking confidence.
Developing strong pronunciation and accent clarity makes TOEFL preparation or IELTS preparation feel much less intimidating. Working through phrasal verbs and everyday expressions allows us to build the foundation needed for success. I look forward to helping you navigate these hurdles so you can achieve your specific goals soon.

Starting with a casual chat reveals more about your language habits than any formal test could ever hope to show. Actually, ignoring the textbook during our first meeting creates space for genuine interaction and authentic speech patterns.
These sessions rely on the principles of my BA Linguistics degree to break down complex sounds into manageable pieces. We practice idioms and expressions that native speakers actually use in daily life to keep things grounded. This process focuses on understanding over memorisation so the new vocabulary sticks for the long haul.
