About LETIAN
As a qualified native Mandarin teacher with more than 10 years of teaching experience, I am dedicated to helping every learner achieve real and lasting progress. I hold a Chinese Senior Secondary School Teaching Qualification and a Mandarin Proficiency Certificate, and I am currently completing an MA in Linguistics at the University of Leeds. My extensive classroom experience and academic background ensure that my lessons are both professional and engaging. Students often describe my classes as clear, patient, and motivating, and many of them have continued learning with me for several years. I believe that every learner deserves a supportive environment where they feel confident to speak, make mistakes, and grow — and I am committed to providing exactly that.

As a native Mandarin speaker with over 10 years of teaching experience, I believe language learning should be interactive, structured, and enjoyable. My lessons combine communicative practice, pronunciation training, and cultural insights, helping students build both fluency and confidence. Each class typically lasts 60 minutes, tailored to students’ needs — from beginners and GCSE learners to adults preparing for HSK exams or improving spoken Chinese for work and travel. I hold a Chinese Senior Secondary School Teaching Qualification and a Mandarin Proficiency Certificate, and I’m currently pursuing an MA in Linguistics at the University of Leeds, which enriches my teaching with academic insight. My approach is patient, encouraging, and learner-centred — creating a positive environment where every student can enjoy discovering the beauty of Mandarin.
