About Abby-Leigh
I am an aspiring teacher currently in the final year of my degree. I have been studying for numerous years, teaching in multiple classrooms and meeting children of various backgrounds, needs and abilities. These experiences have made me the teacher I am today, providing me with knowledge and an ever developing teacher identity which I now want to pass on to the students I tutor.
For me teaching is not just about absorbing information, it’s about learning in a fun, engaging environment which makes you want to come back and learn some more. I aim to instil a passion for learning in all the children I teach, and have seen results time and time again from this approach which cannot be faulted.

As a teacher I identify with a need to teach in a calm, relaxed environment. Learning to read, write and develop their phonetical knowledge from an early age is paramount to children's success in education. This is something which I want to provide to as many children as possible supplying them with the confidence to achieve.
Tutoring with me allows children to feel relaxed knowing no question or answer is silly - it is only when this is established that children truly start to thrive in their learning.
When beginning the first lesson with students I aim to get to know them as a person first; what they like/dislike, their knowledge so far in the subject, their learning styles, what makes them most comfortable. From here I can tailor my lessons to suit your child ensuring they get the best value education possible - there is no one-size fits all in education!
The length of my lessons is ultimately down to yourself as all children can work well for different lengths of time, however my packages usually follow 1 of 2 courses:
1. 45 minute lesson (a 5 minute brain break after 20 minutes to recap)
2. 1 hour lesson (two 5 minute brain breaks at suitable intervals)
My lessons are suitable for primary aged students looking to develop their mathematics, however other primary subjects are available at your request.

Abby is an excellent tutor, with perfect ethics and a strong and effective approach to school curriculum subjects. I would definitely have abby again as a tutor an would recommend her for anyone who wishes for their children to be taught at the most highest efficiency of learning.
Abby-Leigh was great ! Very patient and professional with my 11 year old throughout his lessons over the summer holiday. She was on time time to all sessions and we have seen a huge improvement in only 7 weeks. Would absolutely recommend to anybody looking for an excellent tutor.
