About Gemma
I have a TEFL qualification and University level and have also worked as a learning supply assistant for over 5 years. Since graduating from my Masters degree I have been home tutoring students across a range of literature, media and communication based issues. I have worked in summer youth groups as a volunteer for the past 6 years and have a very natural and happy rapour with both the students and there families. In my role as Tutor I am happy to travel to students' homes, libraries, or schools to conduct tutoring sessions in order to help them in their studies of both English language and literature. I will schedule tutoring appointments with either the students or their parents and keep a weekly diary of all meetings and correspondence. Providing homework tasks and feedback to students while using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in them. My aim is to make lessons accessible and fun in order to encourage students to want to learn more.

I base my lesson structure on a persons needs and learning style. Offering written and oral examples of work as well as fun examples and tests to motivate and inspire. I like to plan each students tutoring experience differently based on their own needs and requirements.
