About Rafia

Hello! I’m Rafia, a Computer Science student at LUMS and an experienced online language tutor. I have a C1 level of English and have been teaching languages to students from different backgrounds through one-on-one online lessons.

I believe that a good teacher should make students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and expressing themselves without fear of being judged. I am patient, attentive and genuinely interested in understanding each student’s individual goals and learning style.

Alongside teaching, my experience in university leadership, marketing and communication has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, stay organized and work responsibly with different people.

Whether you are learning English for university, work, travel or simply to become more confident in everyday conversations, I will help you develop practical skills that you can actually use outside the classroom.

About the lesson

I believe English is best learned by actually using it, not by memorizing endless grammar rules. My lessons focus on helping students understand and communicate naturally in real-life situations.

I use a combination of guided conversation, listening exercises, vocabulary building, pronunciation practice, and short movie or TV clips. Clips are especially useful because they expose students to natural expressions, accents, pronunciation, tone and everyday English that textbooks often don't teach. We watch a short scene, break down useful phrases and expressions, discuss what we heard, and then use the new language in conversation and role-play.

Lessons are personalized according to your level and goals. If you want to improve speaking confidence, we will spend more time communicating; if listening is your difficulty, we will work with audio and clips; and if vocabulary is your focus, we will build practical vocabulary that you can actually use.

A typical lesson lasts 50–60 minutes, although shorter lessons can also be arranged depending on your schedule.

I am a C1 English speaker and an LUMS Computer Science student with experience teaching students online. I currently teach Turkish to international students through one-on-one online lessons, where I create personalized lesson plans and manage lessons and learning materials independently.

My lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate learners and anyone who wants to become more comfortable with everyday English, particularly speaking and conversation.
