About Wendelyn

Hello! I’m Ma’am Wendy, a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) with 11 years of experience in tutoring and teaching students at different academic levels. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, and I am also a Singapore Mathematics Teacher/Trainer.

Throughout my years as an educator, I have worked with students with different abilities, learning styles, and academic needs. I specialize in Mathematics for elementary, junior high school, and senior high school students, while also providing academic support in all subjects for elementary learners.

I am passionate about making lessons clear, engaging, and easier to understand. I believe that effective tutoring goes beyond helping students complete assignments or prepare for examinations. My goal is to help each learner build strong foundational skills, develop logical and problem-solving abilities, and become more confident and independent in learning.

I adapt my lessons according to each student’s level and learning pace. With patience, structured guidance, and consistent practice, I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving.

Whether a student needs help catching up, strengthening their Mathematics skills, preparing for assessments, or seeking additional academic challenges, I am committed to providing professional, personalized, and supportive instruction.

My Approach as a Tutor

I am a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) with 11 years of tutorial experience, specializing in Mathematics. I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, and I am also a Singapore Mathematics Teacher/Trainer.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand concepts rather than simply memorize formulas and procedures. I believe that every learner has a different pace and learning style, so I adjust my teaching methods according to each student’s needs, strengths, and areas for improvement.

During a typical lesson, I begin by reviewing the student’s prior knowledge and identifying any learning gaps. I then explain the lesson using simple, step-by-step methods, examples, visual representations, and guided practice. For Mathematics, I emphasize conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and the application of concepts to different types of problems. When appropriate, I also incorporate Singapore Mathematics strategies to develop stronger mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills.

After teaching the concept, I provide practice activities and allow the student to solve problems independently. I carefully check their work, explain mistakes in a supportive way, and provide additional exercises when necessary. I also regularly review previous lessons to ensure that the student retains what they have learned.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my 11 years of experience, professional teaching background, and individualized approach. My goal is not only to help students improve their academic performance, but also to strengthen their basic skills, develop their problem-solving abilities, and build their confidence in learning.

My lessons are suitable for Elementary students (Grades 1–6) in all subjects and Junior and Senior High School students (Grades 7–12) who need support in Mathematics. I offer lessons for both local and international students, including students who would benefit from the Singapore Mathematics approach.
