About Sam

Hi! I'm a History undergraduate at the University of Gloucestershire, going into my second year, and I achieved an A in A-Level History with AQA.

I offer online History tutoring for GCSE students, helping students who are struggling to understand difficult topics, organise large amounts of content, or approach exam questions and essays with confidence.

At A-Level, I studied Britain 1906–1957 and Germany 1871–1991, both with AQA. I'm now continuing to develop my knowledge at university, where I've studied topics including the USA from the Declaration of Independence to the Civil War, Russia from Emancipation to Revolution, Early Modern religion, and England after the Glorious Revolution.

My main strength is making difficult topics easier to understand. I don't think History should simply be about memorising endless dates and facts. I want to help students understand why things happened, how events connect, and how to use that knowledge effectively in exam questions.

My lessons are friendly and relaxed, while still being focused on making genuine academic progress. We can work through difficult topics, build a better understanding of the content, practise essay questions, or develop your approach to exams.

Most importantly, I want my students to actually enjoy History more. Once the content starts to make sense, History becomes much more interesting — and improving your grade becomes much more achievable.

I'm an undergraduate History student at the University of Gloucestershire, with a Grade A in A-Level History, offering friendly and supportive online History tutoring for GCSE and A-Level students.

I know that History can sometimes feel overwhelming — whether it's remembering large amounts of content, understanding complicated events, building strong arguments, or knowing exactly what examiners are looking for.

What I can help with

As a current university History student, I understand the challenges of studying for exams and writing History essays. I want to help you develop not just your knowledge, but the skills and confidence to tackle exam questions effectively.

All sessions are online, making tutoring accessible wherever you are in the UK.
