About Crystal
Hi, I’m Crystal, a graduate student in language teaching at UCLA. I am trained in how languages are learned and taught, and I focus on helping beginners start speaking Mandarin from the very beginning.
My lessons are interactive, supportive, and built around real-life communication. I create a relaxed space where you can practice without pressure, while still making clear progress step by step.

I teach Mandarin the way people actually use it in daily life. Instead of only learning “你好吗”, you will learn how to start, continue, and end real conversations.
A typical lesson includes guided speaking practice, useful sentence patterns, and interactive activities based on real-life situations. You will practice how to respond naturally, not just memorize phrases.
My lessons are relaxed, interactive, and speaking-focused. I create a supportive space where you can build confidence and start using Mandarin from the very beginning.
