About Kalina
I create relaxed, conversational Mandarin lessons for kids and teens who want to actually enjoy learning. Every session is prepared in advance and tailored to your child's specific goal, whether that's improving grades, speaking with relatives, or building confidence from scratch. I keep lessons engaging and stress-free because people learn best when they're comfortable. After each session, I send a quick recap so you always know what we covered and where they're progressing. I can also offer recommendations on ways kids can continue practicing mandarin at home in ways that are engaging to them, completely tailored to your childs interests :)

My goal is to create a comfortable space where younger kids and teens can learn real conversational Mandarin with someone close to their age. With my background, from daily life in China every summer to textbook Mandarin in my Lowell High School classroom, I can adapt lessons to whatever your child actually needs, whether that's acing a test or ordering food in Beijing. I charge less than adult tutors, and I offer a free first session so you can see if we're a good fit. No pressure, just real help from someone who's been in your child's shoes and actually loves the language :)
