About Yue

I am a dedicated and patient Mandarin tutor with a strong background in both teaching and education. I hold a Mandarin certificate and a Fine Arts degree, and I have taught in primary schools in China as well as worked as a teaching assistant at a Chinese school in London. With this experience, I understand how to create lessons that are structured, engaging, and effective for different age groups and learning levels. I take pride in being reliable, professional, and approachable. My goal is to build students’ confidence step by step, making sure they feel supported and motivated throughout their learning journey. Whether you are a beginner or looking to improve your existing skills, I will guide you with clear explanations, interactive activities, and encouragement. About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and interactive. I believe language learning should be practical and enjoyable, so I use a mix of conversation practice, games, storytelling, and cultural activities to help students stay motivated. A typical lesson lasts around 45 minutes and is tailored to the student’s age, level, and goals. I hold a Mandarin certificate and a Fine Arts degree, and I have previously taught primary school art, including Chinese brush painting, in China. I now work as a teaching assistant at a Chinese school in London and have extensive experience working with children in the primary age group. My lessons are suitable for beginners and young learners who want to build a strong foundation in Mandarin, as well as for older students looking to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. I aim to make each class clear, supportive, and enjoyable, helping learners gain confidence and develop a lasting interest in the Chinese language and culture.

Even at a young age, they show great listening skills and are quick to learn new vocabulary, tones, and sentence patterns.
Both children respond well to interactive activities, songs, and games, and they especially enjoy practicing with flashcards. Their pronunciation has improved noticeably, and they are gaining confidence expressing themselves in Chinese.
It’s been a pleasure to see their progress each week, and I’m proud of how much effort they put into learning a new language. I look forward to continuing this learning journey with them and supporting their growth in Mandarin.
