About Alia Balqis
Hi, I’m Alia! I’m a Public Relations & Marketing graduate from Taylor’s University and the University of the West of England, Bristol. Having studied in both government and private schools and universities, I’ve experienced different cultures and learning styles, which helps me connect with students from all backgrounds. I’ve loved public speaking since childhood, channeling it through theater, debate, and performing arts. For 6 years, I’ve also volunteered to teach underprivileged students soft skills like presentations and confidence-building. I want to teach because I believe language is more than just words—it’s about confidence, opportunity, and expression. My goal is to help students grow not only in Bahasa Melayu and English, but also in the courage to use them in everyday life.

My tutoring approach is personal, flexible, and supportive. I believe every student learns differently, so I design lessons around your pace, goals, and learning style. Rather than focusing only on memorization, I emphasize real understanding, whether it’s mastering grammar, building vocabulary, or developing conversational skills. I also draw on over 6 years of volunteer teaching experience, where I guided underprivileged students in soft skills such as public speaking, presentation, and communication. This experience taught me the importance of patience, encouragement, and creating a safe space for students to learn and grow. In my lessons, I blend practical examples, interactive exercises, and real-world applications to make learning engaging and relevant. My aim is not only to improve your language skills but also to build your confidence to use Bahasa Melayu and English effectively in school, work, and daily life.
