About Meera
My math lessons go far beyond the pages of a textbook. I believe learning happens best when abstract ideas are brought to life through concrete, memorable experiences. I weave creative problem-solving scenarios, interactive logic puzzles, and real-world simulations into every lesson. This helps make even the most complex topics feel approachable and meaningful. You’ll find yourself solving puzzles, spotting patterns, and connecting ideas you never thought possible. My methodology is hands-on and exploratory. I encourage you to think deeply, test your ideas, and discover solutions independently, with me guiding you every step of the way. Mistakes aren’t something to fear — they’re opportunities to grow and build intuition. I specialize in helping both the determined Problem Solver and the focused Exam Taker not just find answers, but understand the ‘why’ behind every step. I’m a Maths tutor with over 7 years of experience and an MSc in Computational Mathematics. My passion lies in helping students, especially non-STEM majors, see mathematics as a meaningful and approachable subject. I take a holistic approach, aiming to demystify advanced concepts by focusing on the big ideas rather than drowning students in heavy computation. For me, math is less about crunching numbers and more about understanding patterns, logic, and connections to the world around us.
I love using everyday analogies — like comparing calculus to filling a glass of water or seeing matrices as social networks — to make abstract ideas relatable. Historical stories about mathematicians and their discoveries also find their way into my lessons, adding depth and context to the theories we study. Over the years, I’ve worked extensively with liberal arts students, humanities scholars, and others who thought they “weren’t math people.”
I take pride in helping those who have struggled with math in the past find clarity and even joy in the subject. My sessions are conversational, interactive, and always tailored to your background and goals. I believe that everyone can appreciate the beauty and universal impact of mathematics when it’s taught with patience and creativity.
