About Carol

I am a Parsons School of Design Professor with over 20 years of teaching experience and a multidisciplinary background in fine art, photography, and design. My expertise includes life drawing and integrating anatomy into various artistic disciplines. I hold an MFA from Hunter College and a BFA from Cooper Union, blending formal academic training with practical experience. As a practicing artist and educator, I am passionate about helping students develop the skills and confidence to represent the human form with accuracy and creativity. Whether you’re building foundational skills or advancing your practice, I’m here to guide you in mastering anatomy for art. Book your first lesson today and bring your figures to life!

About the lesson

Develop a deeper understanding of the human form with anatomy lessons tailored specifically for artists. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, these lessons will help you create more accurate and expressive drawings and sculptures.

You’ll learn:

Human Proportions: Understand the structure and scale of the human body.
Skeletal Framework: Study bones as the foundation of movement and form.
Muscle Structure: Learn how muscles define shape and contribute to motion.
Dynamic Poses: Explore gesture drawing and capturing movement.
Creative Application: Apply anatomy knowledge to enhance your unique artistic style.
Each session includes hands-on exercises, references to classical and contemporary art, and techniques for observing and rendering the human figure.
