About Lavanya
My lessons are designed to help students excel in strategic test preparation. Each session is intensive, focusing on efficient problem-solving and smart time management under pressure. We identify common pitfalls that often reduce scores and develop practical strategies to avoid them. Students work with real past papers and timed drills to build speed, accuracy, and focus. I am a dedicated Maths tutor with over 2 years of teaching experience and a BSc in Mathematics and Economics. My focus is on non-Euclidean geometry, a field that challenges conventional ideas of space and shape. I explore curved spaces, including hyperbolic and spherical geometries, to show how mathematics extends beyond flat surfaces. Visual models and diagrams are central to my lessons, making abstract concepts tangible and engaging.
I also provide historical context, highlighting how mathematicians like Gauss and Riemann revolutionized the study of geometry. Many of my students are drawn to abstract geometry, theoretical physics, and the philosophy of mathematics, seeking to understand the deeper implications of space and structure. Together, we examine how curved spaces reshape concepts of distance, parallel lines, and angles.
Through problem-solving, visualization, and discussion, students develop both intuition and technical understanding. My approach encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation of mathematical beauty. Lessons are designed to be challenging, yet accessible, fostering confidence and intellectual growth.
