  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in my chosen field developed gradually as I began helping friends and classmates understand difficult concepts. The joy of explaining things in a way that helped others succeed sparked my passion for private tutoring. Over time, I realized that one-on-one guidance could make a huge difference, so I committed myself to providing this support professionally
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach chemistry, english, biology, medicine entrance test prep, and singing. Each subject has something unique, but I particularly enjoy exploring chemistry and biology real-world applications with students, and guiding students through exam preparation for medicine is incredibly rewarding. Some advanced theoretical concepts can be tricky, but I focus on making even challenging topics approachable and engaging.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, my piano teacher was a huge inspiration. Their dedication and deep attention to detail left a lasting impact on me. I admired how they committed so much effort into making each lesson meaningful, which taught me the importance of precision and passion in learning and teaching alike.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs patience, empathy, and flexibility. Each student is unique, so adapting my approach to meet their needs is key. Also, creating a comfortable environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes is essential for effective learning.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

As a leader in my school choir, I learned the importance of one-on-one guidance. When preparing for performances, working with individuals to bring out their best was crucial. This experience helped me see how personalized support builds confidence and highlights each person's strengths-an approach I carry into my tutoring.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

One of the biggest challenges is helping students overcome their self-doubt. Whether it's mastering chemistry concepts or preparing for entrance exams, students can feel overwhelmed or question their abilities. Part of my role is to encourage them, provide manageable steps, and remind them of their progress along the way.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Teaching is definitely a passion of mine. Beyond that, I love exploring creative ways to make difficult topics easier to understand. It's so rewarding to find new methods or examples that resonate with students, helping them see the subject in a new light.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions) ?

I'm a Superprof because I genuinely care about my students' success and invest time in getting to know their strengths, challenges, and learning styles. I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a personalized approach to every session, making learning both effective and enjoyable.
