About Vanessa

I am a dedicated Chess tutor with over 9 years of experience teaching high school and college students. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of guiding around 300 students, helping them build a strong foundation in the game and develop advanced strategic thinking. My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a personalised learning experience, ensuring that each student’s individual strengths, weaknesses, and goals are carefully considered.
I specialise in all critical areas of Chess, including Fundamentals, Openings, Middlegames, and Endgames. My approach combines technical instruction with practical application, enabling students to not only understand strategies but also implement them effectively during games. I emphasise critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, helping students grow both as players and as independent thinkers.
Beyond technical skills, I incorporate unique strategies tailored to each learner, including adaptive lesson plans, real-game analysis, and interactive exercises.
