About Daphne
My teaching approach for Chess focuses on creating an engaging and supportive environment where students feel confident to learn and explore. I cover all key areas of Chess, including fundamentals, openings, middlegames, endgames, tactics, strategy, and positional play. I use real-life examples and case studies from famous games to make lessons practical and relatable, helping students understand how concepts apply in actual matches.
I believe empathy and flexibility are essential in teaching. Every student has a unique learning style, so I adapt my lessons to match their pace, strengths, and areas that need improvement. I encourage questions, discussions, and interactive problem-solving to ensure students feel understood and supported throughout their learning journey.
Motivation and communication are central to my methodology. I celebrate progress, set achievable goals, and provide clear explanations to simplify complex strategies. By combining practical exercises, guided practice, and strategic thinking, I help students improve step by step, build confidence, and excel in Chess at every level, from beginner to advanced.

I am a dedicated Chess tutor with 2 years of experience teaching high school and college students. Over this time, I have successfully guided around 300 students, helping them develop strong skills and confidence in their game. My focus is on making Chess both enjoyable and challenging, ensuring every student feels motivated to improve.
My teaching philosophy centres on understanding each student’s unique learning style. I break down complex strategies into simple, practical steps, using real-life examples and exercises to make concepts clear. I emphasise fundamentals, openings, middlegames, endgames, and tactical thinking, helping students build a solid foundation while developing strategic skills.
I take pride in fostering critical thinking, patience, and problem-solving through Chess. Seeing my students achieve personal milestones and win matches gives me great satisfaction. My goal is to guide every learner to excel, improve steadily, and gain confidence, preparing them for success at every stage of their Chess journey.
