About Suren

I am an experienced chess instructor with a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of the game. I have extensive experience coaching both online students in the US and offline and online students in India, tailoring my lessons to suit diverse learning styles. Additionally, I had the privilege of serving as an arbiter for chess tournaments as well, which enriched my perspective on the game’s dynamics and strategies. My involvement in various facets of chess—from instructing to tournament arbitration—reflects my commitment to fostering growth and excellence in chess for all my students.

About the lesson

Teaching Techniques and Methods:
I focus on personalized learning, adapting my teaching methods to suit each student's skill level and learning style. My approach is centered around making complex chess strategies simple and understandable. I emphasize both theory and practical gameplay, using real-life scenarios and tactical exercises to reinforce learning. I also encourage students to analyze their own games, learn from mistakes, and improve decision-making skills.

The Usual Structure of a Class:
A typical class starts with a brief review of the previous lesson, followed by the introduction of new concepts, strategies, or openings. We then engage in practice through puzzles or simulated games, which are designed to develop problem-solving skills. Towards the end of the session, I provide feedback and assign tasks for independent practice to reinforce learning.
