About Luke
My method of teaching is to understand and adapt to the needs and challenges of individual students, to be able to guide your efforts, which is why the first session is free.
As an accomplished professional programmer who is a good communicator with mentoring and teaching experience I keep things clear, understandable and enjoyable, because we learn when we are excited about a subject. And we learn from our mistakes, and to make mistakes we can learn from, we need to practise in an encouraging atmosphere.
I can help you learn underlying principles and patterns to gain mastery of any language or framework.
I teach programming in all web languages (HTML, JavaScript etc), server application languages (python, SQL etc) either traditional or vibe/prompt coding for school, work, pleasure or project to an educational or industrial standard including; interface, user control, databases and security. I teach Computer Science to GCSE, and I'm available to help with specific problems and questions to help you get homework or that assignment completed in time or to prep for that job interview or AWS certification.

My approach is to ensure you have a good grasp of Computer Science basics upon which we can build, we will achieve this using a programming language such as Python, PHP, SQL or Node, whatever interests you the most, or might be required for your curriculum. Learn real-world industry best practices and techniques, get job-ready skills and learn modern practices.
I provide tailored lessons customised to your skills and pace to improve ability and confidence, for school, work or personal project. This might entail following a structured course or working through specific problems you have encountered. We can for example work through your school curriculum, plan out and execute a personal project or focus on specific problems you have encountered.
Programming computers is like driving or painting or martial arts, you learn by doing, so expect to be creating code from the first session.
