About Samuel
I am a composer, guitarist and music theorist fascinated above all, with the creative process. I view music as a powerful journey, during which we can uncover the mysterious and extraordinary aspects of life. As a composer and guitarist, I have studied and worked in France, the USA, China, Taiwan and India. Experiencing vastly contrasting cultural approaches to music and art opened my mind to new ways of perceiving, learning and practicing music. I seek to inspire students by engaging them in this process of discovery beyond the ordinary and making music and fun, playful and beyond all, profound experience.

My philosophy as a mentor is centred around manifesting the unique qualities of each student. The process begins by working with students to determine their artistic desires and aspirations. The next step involves identifying unique areas of competence and harvesting those abilities to achieve the students goals. At the core of my artistic vision is the belief that students should also be pushed to go beyond their limits and expand their artistic vision and aspirations as their knowledge and musical capacity become more advanced.
I have tutored a range of courses including ear training, harmony and analysis at the renowned New England Conservatory (NEC) in Boston. This experience allowed me to develop invaluable insights into the teaching process as well as develop my own flexible techniques that can be catered to students with a variety of personalities, needs and learning styles.
