About Crystal

Hello, my name is Crystal and I am a 27-year-old music teacher based in Calgary, Canada. I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2023 with a Master's degree specializing in Music Education. In addition, I am also a certified Kodály instructor. This method focuses on teaching music to young children using solfa and hand signs. I have more than 10 years of teaching experience and have developed an expertise in seeking creative and innovative approaches to engage with my students. These approaches are tailored specifically to accommodate my students of different ages, ranging from 3 to 60 years old.

My students have a 100% passing rate in music examinations and I teach all levels. I have a Trinity ATCL certificate in piano, and ABRSM Grade 8 in music theory. My master's thesis examines the feasibility of applying the Kodály Method (a music teaching method designed for group classes) to private piano lessons. I am passionate about assessing and building programs that will provide my students with a positive music learning experience. If you are interested in having me as your teacher, I am more than willing to provide you with references.

About the lesson

I teach piano to students of all levels and ages. Whether you are interested in learning piano for fun or examinations, I can design lesson plans catering to your goals. My classes are typically 30 mins to an hour, depending on your level and preference. I will also provide you some tips and advice on how to practice in order to maximize your learning. I am a very patient teacher who will understand your concerns and try to provide you with the best solutions.
