About Jennifer
My name is Jennifer or to my students, Mrs. Hor Mrs. Hamilton. I have a 12-year-old daughter in 8th grade (she was academically able to skip a grade) and a 6-year-old son in 1st grade. I have a BA in Elementary Education and Psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work. My varied education has given me an exceptional range of skills, life experiences, working with diverse student populations from all socioeconomic, cultural, family composition, and faith backgrounds. I homeschooled grades 1st-5th during COVID and recently teaching 5th grade at Providence Christian Academy. I am enrolling to complete my Master of Education Degree as well. I love playing and coaching softball, cheerleading. My family spends time swimming, canoeing, hiking, traveling, and playing video games. I love teaching because I love learning. A week after school ends, I am already back in my classroom preparing for the next year. It is my passion and that passion comes across in my teaching.

Sessions are tailored to your student's ability and attention levels. Your student may be an exceptional reader, however, struggle with writing. A student like this could expect reading a passage outlook, breaking the passage down to discover and understand the meaning. Next would be summarizing the passage into their own words. A student may excel in math, however, reading can be difficult. Activities could include creating math-based word problems or using manipulatives to tell a story. Interactive lessons that are taught 4 ways: 1) you hear and see the information, 2) you see a demonstration of the activity, 3) you do the activity, and 4) you teach the activity back to me. Get ready to become a lifelong learner, not just a student!
