About Chloe
Choosing the right teacher is about more than just finding someone with a degree—it is about finding a mentor who understands the transformative power of language. My journey in education began early, inspired by watching my father teach at a local community college. Seeing the impact he had on his students sparked a lifelong passion in me to foster that same growth in others. Professionalism You Can Trust With a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and French and a Bachelor of Education, my teaching is grounded in academic excellence and proven pedagogical methods. Having taught in various schools across Canada, I bring a wealth of classroom experience and a deep understanding of the Grade 6 to 12 curriculum. I am committed to maintaining a professional, organized, and supportive environment where every student feels seen and challenged. The Power of Language My perspective is truly international. My Methods & Techniques I employ a Multi-Sensory Approach to ensure that language sticks. My methodology includes: Visual Integration: I use rich visual aids, infographics, and films to provide context and mental hooks for new vocabulary. Gamified Learning: To keep engagement high, I incorporate strategic games that turn repetitive practice into a competitive and fun challenge. The "Core & Creative" Balance: I believe in the "Lived Experience" model. While we dive into cultural nuances, I maintain a disciplined routine for grammatical structures, ensuring you have the "bones" to support your creative "flesh." Structure of a Typical Lesson Each session is designed to move from foundational theory to active production: The Warm-Up: A brief, interactive conversation or game to transition your brain into the target language. The Deep Dive: A focused look at a grammatical structure or literary concept. The Application: Using visuals or prompts to apply that concept to a real-life scenario or discussion. Feedback Loop: A dedicated space for questions and student suggestions to tailor the next session. Why My Approach is Different As someone who was homeschooled and then transitioned into international university systems in Canada and Belgium, I understand that every student learns differently. My Sociology background allows me to understand the cultural "why" behind language, and my B.Ed. ensures I have the pedagogical tools to help you succeed.
