About Emma

Hello, I'm Emma. I am a First Class Computer Science graduate and hold an MSc in Intelligent Vision. Throughout my education and career, I have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a genuine enjoyment of helping others learn and grow in confidence.

I understand that Maths can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I enjoy helping students break challenging topics down into smaller, more manageable steps. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop confidence in their own abilities and feel more comfortable tackling new problems.

Alongside my academic background, I have experience supporting students through volunteer teaching assistant work and mentoring colleagues in professional environments. I am patient, approachable, and committed to creating a positive learning experience where students feel supported and encouraged to ask questions.

Whether a student needs help building confidence, preparing for exams, or strengthening their understanding of key topics, I aim to provide personalised support that helps them achieve their goals.

I hold a current clear DBS certificate.

About the lesson

My lessons are aimed at KS3 and GCSE students who would like to improve their confidence, understanding, and performance in Maths. Whether a student is struggling with a particular topic, preparing for exams, or aiming for a higher grade, I tailor lessons to their individual needs and goals.

As a First Class Computer Science graduate and MSc Intelligent Vision graduate, I have a strong mathematical background and experience breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. I believe that understanding why a method works is just as important as memorising how to solve a problem.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are available online or in person in Southwell and the surrounding area. During lessons, I use worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions to build understanding and confidence. I also encourage students to ask questions and work through problems independently, providing support and feedback where needed.

My aim is to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, developing their skills, and achieving their academic goals.
