Hi, I’m Katlyn — History Buff, Culture Nerd, and Your Personal Time-Travel Guide I have a Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Anthropology from the University of West Georgia. My specialty? The tense, wild, and deeply fascinating era of inter-war Germany. But honestly, I love diving into any time period — ancient empires, modern revolutions, obscure cultural rituals, you name it. My lessons mix strong academic foundations with storytelling, curiosity, and plenty of “wait, that really happened?” moments. Let’s Make History Happen — One Story at a Time
Hi there! I’m a history tutor who believes learning the past should feel more like solving a mystery or going on an epic quest than memorizing dry dates.
My Approach & Techniques:
I combine storytelling with active engagement—connecting events to modern themes, culture, and causes. I guide students to develop strong critical thinking skills by analyzing primary sources, creating timelines, debating perspectives, and mapping cause-and-effect relationships. I use visual aids, mnemonics, and structured review games to keep things lively.
What a Lesson Looks Like:
Each session starts with a quick recap and “lightbulb moment” warm-up—something curious or unexpected from history. Then we tackle a core concept with guided explanations, discussion, and practical exercises (like mock document-based questions or role-play simulations). We end with a mini quiz, reflection, and personalized tips to prep for next time.
