About Colin

My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation while encouraging creativity and personal expression on the guitar. I emphasize ear-hand coordination to help students play with accuracy and feel. We explore alternate tunings to open up new sounds and inspire fresh ideas. Songwriting is an important part of my lessons, where I guide students to craft melodies and harmonies that reflect their emotions and stories. I also introduce digital effects and technology to expand the guitar’s sonic possibilities, helping students develop a modern and versatile sound. For those who appreciate classical technique, I provide clear, structured guidance to refine their skills and deepen their musical understanding. At the same time, I support players who use guitar in spiritual or worship settings, focusing on smooth transitions, emotive playing, and creating an inviting atmosphere. Lessons are personalized to each student’s goals and learning style. I use patience and encouragement to build confidence and motivation. Whether you want to master fingerstyle, compose songs, or enhance your sound with effects, I’m here to help you grow. Together, we will develop your unique voice on the guitar and enjoy every step of the journey.

About the lesson

I’m a passionate guitar teacher with 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar. Music, for me, is the art of storytelling—each note a word, each melody a story waiting to be told. I love helping students use guitar as their voice, whether for songwriting, cinematic scoring, or accompanying poetry. No matter your level, I guide you to channel deep emotion through melody and harmony, unlocking the true power of your playing.

I focus on techniques that make your guitar sing and lessons tailored to your unique creative journey. Whether you’re crafting a haunting score or a heartfelt ballad, I’m here to support your growth with patience and encouragement.

My teaching style blends classical foundations with modern creativity, giving you tools to shape your musical identity. We work on phrasing, dynamics, and emotional depth so your music truly resonates.
