About Matt
My approach to teaching guitar focuses on building strong foundations in technique, music theory, rhythm, and ear training while fostering creativity and expression. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring their musical style. Each lesson is tailored to individual goals—whether it’s mastering chords, improving improvisation, or understanding composition. I emphasize clear communication, compassion, and accountability to help students stay on track and motivated. Using creative exercises, like learning songs and practicing beat-making, I ensure that lessons are engaging and practical. My goal is to inspire confidence and musical growth in every student.

With 8 years of experience teaching guitar to high school and college students, I’ve helped 150-200 students master their musical skills. My teaching philosophy centers on making each lesson practical and engaging, tailoring my approach to fit each student’s goals and style. I cover all essentials—from learning songs and improvisation to mastering theory, technique, and composition. My proudest achievements are watching students grow confident, perform with ease, and even compose their own music. I believe every student has unique potential, and I'm committed to helping them unlock it.
