About Beckett
My passion for jazz guitar is more than just a love for music—it's a deep-seated drive to share this incredible art form with others. Over the years, I've immersed myself in the world of jazz, continuously exploring its rich history, diverse styles, and the unique ways it allows musicians to express their individuality. This journey has shaped me not only as a musician but as an educator, inspiring me to guide others in discovering their own musical voice.
I thrive on the moments when a student has that "aha" moment—when the theory clicks, their fingers find the right notes, and they realize they've reached a new level of understanding and skill. These moments fuel my dedication to teaching, pushing me to continually refine my methods and adapt to each student’s unique learning style.
I’m passionate about helping them harness that creativity. Whether we’re working on developing a personal improvisation style, experimenting with new sounds, or blending jazz with other genres, I encourage my students to think outside the box and push the boundaries of their playing. Watching them grow into confident, expressive musicians is the greatest fulfillment I could ask for as a tutor.

As a seasoned jazz guitar tutor with 5 years of experience, my lessons are designed to elevate your musicianship to professional levels. Whether you’re a beginner looking to establish a strong foundation or an advanced player aiming to refine your skills, my tailored approach ensures that each session is aligned with your goals and interests. I focus on a holistic learning experience, incorporating song learning, improvisation, ear training, and theory to build a well-rounded skill set that empowers you to express yourself creatively on the guitar.
In my lessons, you'll dive deep into the world of jazz guitar, exploring everything from classic standards to contemporary compositions. We'll work on your technique, ensuring you have the technical prowess to navigate complex chord changes and intricate melodies with ease. Improvisation is a core aspect of jazz, and I’ll guide you through the art of spontaneous creativity, helping you develop a unique voice on the instrument. Alongside this, ear training exercises will sharpen your ability to recognize and replicate sounds, enhancing your musical intuition.
Music theory is another pillar of my lessons, providing you with the knowledge to understand the structure and language of jazz.
