About Reya
I’m a Math tutor with over 10 years of experience and a PhD in Mathematics, specializing in applications for environmental science and sustainability. My work bridges the gap between abstract mathematical theory and real-world environmental challenges. I help students understand how math can be used to model ecosystems, track population dynamics, and optimize resource management. Much of my teaching revolves around climate modeling, using differential equations, statistical tools, and simulations to predict environmental outcomes. I incorporate real-world ecological data into lessons to make concepts tangible and relevant. This practical approach not only strengthens understanding but also builds problem-solving skills essential for sustainability work. I’ve guided students through complex topics like nonlinear systems and stochastic processes in a way that’s engaging and accessible. My teaching approach in Maths is nurturing, playful, and highly personalized. I focus on understanding each student’s unique way of thinking and help them grow from there. I create a safe and supportive space where mistakes are part of learning, and questions are always welcome. My sessions often include logic puzzles, strategy-based games, and real-life problems to spark curiosity and deeper thinking.
I believe that maths is not just numbers—it’s patterns, decisions, and creative thinking. That’s why I bring in elements of game theory, recreational math, and everyday scenarios to make concepts feel alive and relevant. Students get to explore, question, and even play their way into understanding.
Whether it’s geometry or algebra, trigonometry or reasoning, I guide learners to build confidence and a strong foundation. I work closely with parents too, keeping them informed and involved in the journey. My goal is to help every student not just perform better, but actually enjoy maths. I encourage open minds, persistence, and playful curiosity. Together, we celebrate progress—big and small—as we grow a genuine appreciation for the beauty of mathematics.
