About Kiran
I hold an M.S. in Physics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and an M.Sc. in Physics from one of India's top-ranked institutes, I later completed doctoral coursework. Physics has been the thing I keep coming back to — the subject I chose at every point where I could have chosen something easier.
What I care about in teaching is the moment a student stops memorizing and starts reasoning. Most people who struggle with physics aren't bad at it; they were handed equations before they were handed the picture, and everything after that felt arbitrary. My job is to go back and rebuild that picture.
I'm patient, I don't rush, and I'd rather spend fifteen minutes on why a free-body diagram looks the way it does than race through five problems.

Lessons are one-on-one and online, structured specifically to accommodate US and European time zones seamlessly.
I teach physics the way it actually clicks: starting from the physical picture, then building to the equations, so you're never plugging numbers into formulas you don't understand.
Lessons are one-on-one and online, using Superprof's collaborative whiteboard so we can sketch free-body diagrams, motion graphs, and vector problems together in real time. Every session is built around working problems — I'll walk through the first one, then coach you through the next as you do it yourself.
I work with high school students in AP Physics 1, honors physics, and regular physics, along with college students in algebra-based introductory courses. Kinematics, Newton's laws, forces and friction, energy, momentum and collisions, circular motion and gravitation, torque and rotation, and waves.
How to get the most out of our sessions: please message me the specific topic, chapter, or unit at least 24 hours before each lesson, along with a copy of any assignment, problem set, worksheet, or practice test we'll be working on. I review your material in advance so our time together goes straight into the physics rather than reading through the problem for the first time. The more detail you send — your textbook, where you're stuck, what your teacher emphasized — the more targeted the lesson will be.
Session length is flexible and we'll agree on it together — some students want a focused hour before a test, others prefer a longer block to work through a full problem set. Lessons are shaped around what you need: catching up on a confusing unit, preparing for a unit test, working through homework, or building toward the May AP exam. I'll send a short recap after each lesson.
Getting started: I offer a free 30-minute introductory call to talk through where you are in the course, what's giving you trouble, and how I can help — no charge and no obligation. I'm new to Superprof, so my current rates are introductory ($15/hour) while I build up reviews here.

I highly recommend Kiran! He helped me prepare for my calculus exam over a period of three months. Before we started, I really struggled to understand complex equations, but Kiran broke them down using simple, real-world examples. My grades improved significantly, and I felt much more confident. He is patient, always on time, and makes learning stress-free.
I worked with Kiran for 4 years. He explains technical material to people at any level without ever talking down to them, and he's meticulous about preparation — he doesn't show up to anything half-ready. He'd be a genuinely good teacher.
